Alternate survival strategies

www.chinarant.com maybe the right place sometimes to vent out your irritation.

But I propose one alternate strategy to stay sane and not go raving mad in culture shock: look at the bright side.

Beijing is great: wide streets, well tended spacious parks, even a kind of village lifestyle still coexisting with rapidly ultramodernizing urban spaces (who knows how long though?)

Living in China is great: aren't we foreigners living in China lucky to experience the touch and feel of the most rapid development that ever happened in economic history? You may argue that the Chinese are not lucky to go through the transitions, or that there are massive problems. But who can say that seeing all that frantic change happening all around you is not exciting?

Note! This is not to say I don't have criticism. This is one alternative attitude strategy!
